Council advertises bids for Alley reconstruction
At the 4/13 council meeting the council approved advertising bids for among other things:
Bid No. 40-09 – 2008 Alley Reconstruction Project – Phase 17
(Delmont/Stagecoach/Blue Lake Circle).
Recreation Today
The summer catalog for Recreation today is now available. It should be arriving in your mailbox, and is also available online.
Richardson Reads One Book
On April 30th the Richardson Public Library announced the selection for Richardson Reads One Book. The One Book selection for 2009 is Three Cups of Tea by David Oliver Relin and Greg Mortenson. David Oliver Relin will be at the book discussion for Three Cups of Tea on
September 29, 2009 at the Richardson High School. For more information visit the library's web site for Richardson Reads One Book.
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month
At the 5/4/2009 work session the City Council presented a proclamation declaring May 2009 Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

Richardson Fire Station #2
Finally, The Richardson Fire Station #2 at Arapaho and Waterview had it's grand opening on on Tuesday April 28th. The $2.5 million project, paid with 2006 bond funds, replaced a station at Arapaho Road and Waterview Drive that was built nearly 50 years ago.
Hundreds of people attended the Grand Opening. Hot Dogs and snacks were served and visitors were given the opportunity to tour the new station.
At the Grand Opening the station was presented with a new Fire Engine. The City Council were there to help back the new Engine No 2 into it's new home.
